The Folklore ensemble "Sider Voivoda" was founded in 1953 in the town of Gorna Oryahovitsa.
It consists of an orchestra of folk instruments, a choir and a dance group. During its 50 years existence the FE "Sider Voivoda" has performed over 3 000 concerts in the presence of more than 3 500 000 spectators. The ensemble has won gold medals at 15 National Folk Festivals and was awarded at 3 international Folk Festivals in Italy, Tunisia and Poland. It has visited over 20 countries in Europe, Asia and Africa.
The repertoire of the ensemble is based on original and arranged folklore works from Mizia region. It covers also folk works from the others Bulgarian ethnographic areas: Trakia, Shopsko, Dobrudzha, Pirinsko, Rodopsko, and includes both little chamber plays and big mass stagings.
